Rippa Rugby Tournament

!RIPPA RUGBY!

On Monday the 16th of March 20 year 5-6 students from St Pius X School attended a Rippa Rugby Tournament. First we arrived at school wearing mufti. Secondly we had to come to the classroom and get our clothes because we had to get changed into our uniform.

Then we had to go downstairs, and wait for the people that didn’t come yet. Then after 5 minutes we were going to go but then one of our teammates came just on time he went up stairs to get his uniform then got changed and came down.

Aniseko was the late one. After Ms Nees-Kairua said that we all can’t fit in the van so some of us has to go with Ms Wylma, Beata’s dad Josh and Mr Coakly. Myself, Monique and Angeline went with Ms Wylma and Amihuti, Arvay and Beata went with Josh.

Then Pita, Laurence and Taniela went with Mr Coakley to the game. When we got there we had to find a spot for us. Then Ms Nees-Kairua told us to go for a slow jog but everyone was sprinting. The grass was wet and it was making our feet really cold.

The game was at Dunkirk. First when we got there we sat down and Ms Nees-Kairua talked to us and told us the rules about the game. Then we put our bags down. We then set up our tent and warmed up. Secondly we started practising our passing and doing some drills.

After we did that we had a little to eat. Our first game started at 10:00am.  Then Ms Nees-Kairua split us up in two teams. The coaches were Josh and Ms Nees-Kairua so they had to split us up.

I was in Ms Nees-Kairua’s team. Then the people that organised this called our name and said that we had a game. The first game we versed was Panmure Bridge. During the game we had to sub because there were 10 of us so there had to be 3 out and 7 on the game.

Ms Nees-Kairua said there were only 3 girls on and 4 boys on allowed at all times. Then they told us that we won. The scores were 11-2. After the game we were so happy and were shouting very loud.

Then we went back to our tent and ate. For our next game we versed St Thomas. They mostly had girls and not that many boys. We started off with the ball and then we got a try, and another one, and another one.

During the game they told this fast guy to play. Suddenly he got a lot of scores but Savior found a way to stop him from getting a lot of scores. After all, we won that game. Our third match was against Pt England they were a very hard team to beat.

They were fast and they had good passes. They also beat us by 8 to 1. Our other St Pius team did very well too. Their first game was against Pt England. Their game was really fast. Then after they lost against Pt England they went back to the tent and ate.

Then we all went to get changed into our clothes that we wore to school. After we changed we put our bags in the back of the van and waited for a little bit so we could go back to school on time.

Suddenly Mr Coakley came and took some of us back to school. I went in the van and during the ride back to school I was sleeping. Right after we all got our bags and put them on the bench and started playing touch for a while.
