Krystal - Te Reo Māori
Today Te Wairua Pakiki 4 (TWP4) did some Te Reo Māori. We jogged our memories of some words. We also learnt a song of the Māori alphabet. The Māori alphabet (arapū) is made up of eight consonants, five vowels and two digraghs. The two digraphs are ng and wh. Orokati is the meaning of consonants, and Oropūare is the meaning of the vowels (a,e,i,o,u). The macron on top of the letters is pronounced dragged. If you want to know more about the Māori alphabet here is my activity! Here is the song (waiata) that we learnt!
